FEBRUARY 2010 MISSIONS TRIP

A small team from CCCH set out on an adventure this past February to come along side of the school and church in Soulemonbougou. The mission- to GET ORGANIZED and to serve OTHERS. As the theme of the trip was centered around Philipians 2:3 "Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself" we set our path focusing on others. The highlights of the trip:

Purchased classroom sets of bibles and rewarded the children that participated in the Bible Memory Program

Health Seminar on the importance of washing hands and germs presented to the parents of the school and the children

Outreach night where we showed a film in the local language "From Creation to Christ" God's Story. Many came to know the Lord. It was awesome!!!

Organized school records of each child!!!!

Presented 2 bibles to our Muslim teachers-pray for their salvation.

Visited local pharmacies/health clinics

Attended 2 Malian weddings-we got to experience a true Malian ceremony at the local Mayors office;followed by a "American" Christian wedding ceremony of one of our teachers. We were also invited to another wedding reception of one of our sponsored child's parents.

Attended a Baby dedication of our School's Secretary Monique'(Pastor Joseph's sister-in-law)  "introducing Baby Joseph"

Visited the local market for the lunch program

Foot washing presentaion- an event where we got to serve the Love Mali teaching and staff in washing their feet. Pastor Steve told the story right out of the bible while we performed the foot washing.

Visited the Department of Health

Observed 3 different Friday Bible Programs at other schools in local villages

Set up brand new Library

Teacher Training

Sponsorship letters distributed to the children-In return, each child wrote to their CCCH sponsor

Set up Language lab with Rosetta Stone for English and French for Staff use

Walked some of our sponsored children home to meet their families

Set up classrooms with visual aides

Visited "the Bush" a very remote village with no electricity. It was the most peaceful experience.
